Of all the numerous notions I've come to know about in my life-span of 18 years, my favourite is "Hedgehog's Dilemma", derived from the renowned anime series, Neon Genesis Evangelion. Two hedgehogs attempt to get closer to each other, but as they do so, their pricks hurt each other, leading to dire, and possibly fatal consequences. Such romantic poignancy, no?
Dominic and I awoke early (not 11, not 10, but 9+ am!) this Sunday Morning to make our way westward to Waseda-Shibuya High School located along West Coast Road to attend its 14th festival. And boy, was it well worth the lengthy journey! The Japanese are famous for their remarkable hospitality, and perhaps they were putting on a facade earlier today, but they certainly impressed me with their kawaii (cute/pretty) smiles, oishii (delicious) food which I never got the chance to try, kakkoii (cool) exhibitions and performances. The most memorable event of the day for me was the tea ceremony which lasted a half hour. 20 min into it and my legs were screaming for me to stand up and run away from the place as far as possible, but still I endured. The compassionate tone of the girl in kimono calmed me slightly, as she looked shyly at me and said, smiling, "Please relax."
Welcome back to the world, Rayner, no matter how brief your respite from Tekong may be. Thank you Diana and Yi Xiong for not being unfriendly towards a stranger. I would also like to extend my thanks to Matthew and Dominic for their kindness, generosity and above all, brotherhood. Cheers!
Vote for anyone save S4 here ^_^ Oh ya to all Liverpudlians, after Man United kicks your Merseyside arses back to hell where they belong, please relax...
